This pizza dough recipe, as usual here at homecookedfeast.com, is not absolutely authentic, but it’s close and tastes great!

As a pizza or on its own

Easy it as a pizza (with toppings) or simply glaze it with some butter and herbs or cheese it up prior to baking for a really easy pizza dough/flatbread snack.

Really Easy Pizza Dough Recipe

Really Easy Pizza Dough Recipe

Equipment

  • Optional pizza stone

Ingredients
  

  • 330 g all purpose white flour Or bread flour – approx 2 cups
  • 1 cup water room temperature
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dry active yeast
  • Mixed herbs optional, for appetizer

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven (with optional pizza stone) to 425°F/220°C
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine yeast, sugar and water and mix thoroughly until bubbles start to form, 5-15 minutes.
  • Mix remaining dry ingredients in large mixing bowl or automatic mixer bowl. Combine with wet ingredients and mix by hand or with mixer and dough hook until dough becomes smooth and not sticky. If dough is sticky, mix in additional white flour.
  • Set aside and let rise for 1-2 hours, until dough has visibly risen.
  • Cut in half (or whatever ratio to make two pizzas) – Dough should make approximately 2 – 9 inch pizzas.

For Pizza

  • If using for pizza, layer on desired toppings and bake uncovered until lightly browned and cheese melted. 12-18 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let rest 2 minutes prior to serving.

As appetizer/on own

  • If eating on own (flatbread-style), add cheese and/or herbs and bake on pizza or cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes, until baked through, but not crispy.
