Cool Pizza Ideas

I find that Pizza is something that we get into grooves and end up ordering delivery or take out (nothing wrong with this) but, especially for parties, it ends up being the same toppings as always. Pep and mush, Hawaiian, meat-lovers, and so on… Try these cool pizza ideas for your #homecooked pizzas!
Everyone knows the most important part of your pizza is the dough, right? WRONG! Well, not all wrong, but yes, dough is important… but the creativity and fun comes from the TOPPINGS!!
Below I have some really easy ways to make both regular (the best!) and very simple pizza dough as well as some keto-friendly options in cauliflower dough (trickier, but pretty cool experiment).
Step 1: Choose your dough
Pizza is a pretty solid go-to at any time, but steer away from the delivery line and forget frozen pizza, it just takes a few minutes to make your own dough and you’ll impress everyone when you up your pizza game with your own dough.
OR… do it Keto!
Step 2: Make a sauce
This should be simple enough, as you have about 2 hours between dough and baking, so you have tons of time to be creative!
For a white sauce, I usually just mix salted butter and minced garlic (salt and pepper to taste).
For red sauce, it is almost as simple. Tomato paste and a few herbs and spice and you’re ready to rock!
Step 3: Choose your toppings
- Thai Red Curry Pizza
- Beef Donair Pizza
- Hawaiian Pizza (ham and pineapple) with fresh crushed chilis
- Capricciosa-style (ham, sausage, artichoke, red onion, kalamata olives, mushroom
- Feta cheese kielbasa with fresh baked tomatoes
Remember, make this pizza your own – substitute whenever necessary and make it how you like it!
Step 4: Bake, eat and enjoy!
Not many more instructions needed here. Above, we have some pretty cool pizza ideas, so hope you can make something work!
If you have a pizza stone” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>here!) that can come in handy, otherwise consider a Convection ovens can be tricky, too, generally heats up the air better (and doesn’t allow the heat to penetrate the bottom of the crust – try par-baking if this is the case for you!)
HAVE FUN WITH THIS ONE!
- Par-baking – I find that this helps the bottom be more solid/crispy and not soggy. Do it, or not, but simply adjust bake time at the end.
- Keto-friendly/Gluten-free – if you like the look of this pizza, but don’t eat wheat flour, try our cauliflower pizza dough recipe here!
- Cheese on bottom or cheese on top? When you’re making a fusion pizza, do whatever you want. NYC/Brooklyn pizza or Chicago deep dish generally have toppings on top, but you’ll often find differing toppings wherever you go. Have fun with this one!
- Sauce mixture – the curry paste is normally mixed into a curry base like coconut milk, so spread it sparingly – the flavour will be quite strong even when lightly applied.
- Pizza Stone– I used to own a pizza stone, so I’m reduced to a convection oven and no stone. If you need one, click here to buy one on Amazon!
Since I made up most of these recipes over the last few months, I doubt anyone has any family secrets for exactly this, but man I’d love to hear some variations on how to make the best pizza dough (olive oil/not, more salt/less, etc)
